Data Deletion

How to request deletion of your ANU data and any data shared with Meta.

Your Right to Delete Your Data

Under UK GDPR you have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. ANU provides two ways to do this.

Option 1 — Delete Your Account In-App

The fastest way to delete all your ANU data is to delete your account directly in the app:

  1. 1.Open ANU and go to your Profile
  2. 2.Tap Settings
  3. 3.Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account"
  4. 4.Confirm your decision

When you delete your account we will:

  • Remove your profile, posts, reviews, and messages within 30 days
  • Delete any access tokens for connected social media accounts immediately
  • Retain payment records for 7 years as required by UK tax law (with all other personal data removed)

Option 2 — Submit a Data Deletion Request

If you cannot access your account or prefer to submit a formal request:

Email: privacy@africannetwork.uk
Subject line: Data Deletion Request
Include: The email address associated with your ANU account and your full name

We will process your request within 30 days and confirm deletion by email.

Disconnecting Your Meta Accounts

If you connected your Instagram or Facebook account to ANU and want to remove ANU's access:

  1. 1.Go to your Instagram or Facebook settings
  2. 2.Navigate to Apps and Websites
  3. 3.Find ANU in the list
  4. 4.Tap Remove

This immediately revokes ANU's ability to post on your behalf. We will delete your stored access token within 24 hours of disconnection.
